Rocking Horse, COVID-19 and your farm or ranch.
Being prepared at a time like this is important to ensure there is no disruption in your supplies on the farm while protecting your health.
Rocking Horse is open for business, however in response to COVID-19 and the repercussions of various government protocols to prevent the spread of the virus we will implement the following program.
We will be operating regular hours. Our team will be regularly disinfecting surfaces and doing our best to maintain a safe environment. We will also work from a respectful 2m distance from fellow staff and customers.
If you feel unwell, don't wish to come to town, or are a returning snowbird under quarantine we can HELP. We do deliveries to the farm on all of our products. We can take orders and payment via the phone and either drop the order in your truck on the way by or bring it to you. Our staff will follow a safety protocol for either situation.
Our supply chain is currently fine so don't panic but it would not hurt to plan ahead. Many of the raw ingredients that we use do come from overseas. It may be a good idea to keep a 2 to 3 month supply of items deemed critical to your operation. This would include veterinary medicine from your vet.
Our team will not be traveling nor attending any functions of any kind. If we all do this right hopefully it will blow over quickly.
We will do our best to help with contingency plans where needed on your farm due to interruptions in your daily workflow. "The specter of market-ready hogs with nowhere to go is a nightmare for every pork producer in the nation. It would result in severe economic fallout in rural communities and a major animal welfare challenge,” said NPPC President Howard "A.V." Roth, a hog farmer from Wauzeka, Wis.
Use common sense and remain calm. Do what you can to protect yourself and stay healthy. The same things you do every year during flu season for the safety of our seniors and vulnerable.
We are a community and we will take a community based approach to this and help each other if the need arises.
Thank You
